The Mansion House was the venue for the legendary Q ball. This year’s event was again in aid of Spinal Injuries Ireland. 470 guests enjoyed a fantastic evening and raised in excess of €60,000 euro for this very worthy cause. This year, the funds will go towards the outreach program. The 2 outreach workers travel the country visiting their members in their own homes and encourage them to begin the difficult journey back towards an active life as a wheelchair user. SII plan to have a third outreach worker on the road in 2012 if the funds are available.
The evening, which was expertly MC’d by Siobhan Bastible of TV3, kicked off with a Presecco reception kindly sponsored by The Mansion House. Dinner was delicious and was complimented by a lovely Chilean Palo Alto red and white very kindly sponsored by Dunnes Stores.
Among the auction items were a fabulous trip to the FA Cup final with 2 nights in Clarridges, an amazing Mick O’Dea painting and a signed Dublin jersey which sold particularly well. The real partying started when ‘Radioshack’ took to the stage, performing all the classic hits from the 70’s, 80’s and 90. They performed for over 2 hours, and were followed up by the excellent Keith O’Reilly on DJ. The revellers were still crying out for more so lucky there was the infamous after party to go to.
