| Summer Ball 2008 | | | | | | The Ballroom in the Four Seasons Hotel was the stunning venue for the annual Spinal Injuries Summer Ball on May 24th where some of Ireland’s most glamorous gathered to enjoy a fantastic evening to help raise much needed funds to support the work of Spinal Injuries Ireland. Guests enjoyed a champagne reception followed by a delicious meal with an assiette of sumptuous desserts.
The night got underway when bookmaker extraordinaire Paddy Power, acting as MC for the event, welcomed all the guests and encouraged them to give generously. Colm Whooley, CEO of Spinal Injuries Ireland spoke passionately about the reality of living with a spinal cord injury. The main project for this year is to build transitional housing for those recovering from spinal cord injuries.
Paddy Power enticed the guests to bid generously on a number of fantastic auction items including a 5 star trip to South Africa, a deluxe Irish escape staying at the Ritz Carlton and Dromoland Castle and a Munster jersey signed by the entire team was a huge hit.
The night was for many a real family affair with Rosanna Davison and her mom Diane playing a very active part (Chris was in concert in Istanbul so sadly could not take to the stage as he normally does at the Ball). Rosanna wasn’t off duty – first choosing the best dressed ladies; with honours going to Katie Brock and Maureen Kelly and then graciously presenting the prizes from the luxury draw.
The dancing continued into the early hours with great music from Superfly. Among those out to support this worthy charity were developer Paddy Kelly with his wife Maureen, Minister Barry Andrews and his glamorous wife Sinead, Paul and Margaret Anderson; Jamie Rohan and his fiancée former Miss Ireland Yvonne Ellard; and Orlaith McAllister of Big Brother fame. | | | | | | |
