Hand cycling is a new activity here at Spinal Injuries Ireland. We purchased 2 Cougar Hand Cycles and have specifically customised both hand cycles to cater for our members.

They are power assist, this means that the hand cycle is mainly powered by arm motion but as a backup we have a lithium battery attached to the hand cycle that is capable of powering the hand cycle up to a speed of 10kph and has a range at full speed of 10 km. We have had them on trials and trips down the beautiful surroundings of Glendalough on its infamous boardwalk.

SII provides transportation to Glendalough and other specially chosen routes. Our team will be there all the way to support you. The hand cycles only entail a short introduction and tuition from our team and we will have you on your way in no time!
