Through the Wild Seals Venture Club, Spinal Injuries Ireland run a series of Venture Activities as an opportunity for people who have sustained a spinal injury to push their expectations of what they can achieve in a safe and challenging environment.
|
Kick Start Programme - Introduction The underlying principle behind the Kick Start Program is to support and motivate individuals who have sustained a spinal cord injury through the challenge of venture activities by encouraging independence and restoring confidence. This is not about turning people into adventurers but rather to use it as a catalyst to motivate and encourage clients to look beyond their present personal expectations.
Ultimate goal The ultimate goal of the Kick Start program is to build on the experience and encourage people to take part in their community through employment, re-training, voluntary work and social activities.
Draft program Details of the program can be obtained from Spinal Injuries Ireland
